Elections were held on Friday to select the new leadership of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists. Elections have been held to select leadership in the central committee, 10 state committees, 76 district branches and 41 institute branches. Election results continue to come in.
The coordinator of the Central Election Committee, Professor Chiranjeevi Khanal, said that the Gorkha branch under the district had been suspended from the Federation and therefore there was no election. He informed that the elections were completed peacefully and enthusiastically. Although the voting time was fixed from 10 am to 4 pm, the election committee said that due to the late start of voting in some districts, voting took place late in the evening. According to
coordinator Khanal, the results of some districts have already arrived on Friday night, while it is expected that the results of most of the districts will be available by Saturday morning. The results of Manang, Mustang, Humla, Arghakhanchi, Dolpa, Mugu and other districts have already come. In some branches, leadership has been selected unanimously.
Deviprasad Sapkota, Nirmala Sharma, Ramesh Bisht and Lalsingh Lama have been nominated for central president. Govind Prasad Chaulagai, Deepak Acharya and Roshan Puri are competing for the position of senior vice president. Ganga Paudel and Neetu Pandit have nominated for women's vice-president, Umid Bagchand, Mohankumar Singh and Subhash Prasad Shah for inclusive vice-president, Janmdev Jaishi, Prakash Thapa, Ram Prasad Dahal and Lekhnath Neupane for general secretary.

Nepal Journalist Federation Kantipur Foundation branch has elected a new committee under the leadership of Suraj Kunwar of Kantipur Dainik. Buddhisagar Marasini has been elected as vice president, Lakshmi Bhandari as women vice president and Upendraraj Pandey as secretary.
Kulprasad Bhattarai is the joint secretary, Raju Chaudhary is the inclusive joint secretary and Yagya Banjade is the treasurer. Aarti Baral, Lakshminarayan Maharjan, Shubharatna Shakya, Prithviram Shrestha, Ramakrishna Shrestha, Lekhnath Pant and Rajkumar Poudel have been elected as working committee members. The branch has elected Anil Giri, Suresh Raj Neupane and Ganga BC as members of the Central Council which is the highest body of the federation. Roshan Sanwa, Janakraj Sapkota, Swaroopraj Acharya and Bhumishwar Poudel have been elected to the state council.
63 people from Kantipur Pratishthan Branch, Radio Kantipur and Kantipur TV voted for the state and center at the Kantipur polling station in Thapathali on Friday.
