Journalist Federation Election: Nirmala Sharma ahead for President, followed by Ramesh Bisht

The 27th Congress of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists is electing a new leadership. The election was held on Friday to select the new leadership of the federation. Elections were held on Friday to select the leadership of the Central Committee, 10 Provincial Committees, 76 District Branches and 41 Institute Branches.

According to the latest vote results, Nirmala Sharma, a joint candidate from Press Chautari and Nepal Press Union, has won the post of central president. According to the latest results, she has got 740 votes. Similarly, Ramesh Bisht, who became a joint candidate from the Press Center, the disaffected side of the Nepal Press Union and other organizations, got 505 votes.  According to Professor Chiranjeevi Khanal, the coordinator of the Central Election Committee, there was no election because the Gorkha branch under the

district was suspended from the federation. Coordinator Khanal said that the election was conducted peacefully and enthusiastically throughout the country. Although the voting time was fixed from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the election committee said that due to the late start of voting in some districts, the voting took place late in the evening. According to

coordinator Khanal, the results of some districts have already arrived on Friday night, while it is expected that the results of most of the districts will be available by Saturday morning. The results of Manang, Mustang, Humla, Arghakhanchi, Dolpa, Mugu and other districts have come. 

Deviprasad Sapkota, Nirmala Sharma, Ramesh Bishta and Lalsingh Lama have been nominated for central president, while Govinda Prasad Chaulagai, Deepak Acharya and Roshan Puri have been nominated for senior vice president. Similarly, Ganga Paudel and Neetu Pandit have nominated for women's vice president, Umid Bagchand, Mohan Kumar Singh and Subhash Prasad Shah for inclusive vice president, Janmdev Jaishi, Prakash Thapa, Ram Prasad Dahal and Lekhnath Neupane for general secretary.
