Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka's company has yet to pay more than 5.19 million rupees as rent for the building and land of Nepal Scout.
Out of that amount, more than 24 million is owed and more than 278 million is due as fine, according to Scout.
The state system and governance committee of the House of Representatives instructed Scout to send the details of the amount owed by Minister Khadka's company . According to the instructions, Scout sent a letter to the state administration on Thursday.
According to the information sent by Scout's accounting officer Chudamani Karki, Minister Khadka's company has 24 million 66 thousand 351 rupees and 29 paise till Thursday 2 crores 78 lakhs 61 thousand 500 rupees have to be paid for the penalty.
Khadka's company had deposited 15 million rupees in Scout's account in the last 2 months. Khadka's company has filed a case in the Kathmandu District Court demanding that the fine be waived, while Scout has filed a case demanding an order to recover the arrears along with the fine. Both the cases are pending in District Court Kathmandu.
