Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri has said that it is not possible to protect the mountains by efforts alone. On the occasion of 'International Mountain Day 2024', Minister Shahi made this statement at a program organized by the ministry on Himalayan conservation in the capital.

"It is not possible to protect the mountains alone," he said. is . 

He pointed out that the mountains are at high risk and there is a need to find nature-based solutions and implement climate adaptation programs to address these challenges.

On the same occasion, Minister Shahi decided to celebrate the year 2025 as the International Snow Year by the United Nations and also informed that Nepal will organize the Everest dialogue program.
