Former Finance Minister Varshman Pun has said that even though there are people in the regulatory bodies who agree with Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, the economy is not achieving the desired results.
In Wednesday's meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives, former Finance Minister Pun, who is also the Deputy General Secretary of the Maoists, said that the economy has not improved as per the target. The former finance minister says that even though he is a favorable person in terms of improving the economy, the capital market, and the insurance sector, the finance minister has not been able to show results.
``Even though we have people in tune with the Minister of Finance in bodies like the Insurance Authority, the Securities Board, which promote investment, regulate and make the market viable, the results have not been achieved . When I myself was the Minister of Finance, the document of the Chairman of the Insurance Authority came to the Ministry . He did not agree to resign after being seen as fake. He said that he is a person of an independent body, now the authority has filed a case,' Pun said, 'The issue of how to increase the expenditure is important for us even today. The liabilities of the previous years are many. It is difficult to work in such a situation .'
Finance Minister Paudel said that he was going to change the topics in the policy and program and that he was going to remove the infrastructure project. Pun said that there is no need to look at the budget brought by another government or finance minister from a different angle.
Pun said that due to the lack of understanding between the government and the regulatory bodies, the loan could not flow in the market . He said that the morale of the private sector has not been raised yet.
