Chief of Army Staff Ashokraj Sigdel has left for India. Chief of Army Staff Sigdel left for New Delhi on Tuesday at the formal invitation of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
The Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army has informed that he is scheduled to pay an official visit to India from 26th to 29th November.
Commander-in-Chief Sigdel has left for India with a nine-member tour team including President of the Army Wives Association and his wife Neeta Chhetri Sigdel. During the visit, Commander-in-Chief Sigdel is scheduled to be decorated by the President of India on 27th November with the honorary rank of Maharathi of the Indian Army.
Similarly, during the visit, there is also a program of meeting with high-ranking officials of India. The visiting party with the Commander-in-Chief is scheduled to return home on the 30th of November. In the absence of Commander-in-Chief Sigdel, Commander-in-Chief Rathi Pradipjung KC has been given permanent charge of Commander-in-Chief.
