I condemn the inhumane and vindictive behavior of the government against Lamichhane: President Dahal

Chairman of the main opposition party Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has demanded to stop 'vindictive behavior' against RSVP Chairman Ravi Lamichhane, who is in police custody for investigation on charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, money laundering, etc.

President Dahal claims that the government is treating Lamichhane inhumanely. On Monday, Dahal requested the government not to act inhumanely against Lamichhane through social media. "I condemn the autocratic, undemocratic, inhumane and vindictive behavior of the government against Ravi Lamichhane, who was not convicted by the court, and who was elected by overwhelming popular vote," said Dahal, "I also seriously request to stop such behavior."

Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on Kartik 2. He is being investigated in the custody of the Kaski police in the case of co-operative fraud.

An arrest warrant was also issued against him in Rupandehi, Chitwan, Kathmandu and Parsa. An arrest warrant has been issued against him for cooperative fraud in those districts. Rupandehi, Kathmandu and Chitwan police have already taken his statement. Only on Monday, Lamichhane was taken to Parsa from Chitwan via Kathmandu for statement.
