US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu has said that the new Trump administration will continue its policy towards Asia and Nepal. Assistant Foreign Minister for South and Central Asia Affairs, Lu, mentioned that he visited Nepal at the end of the Biden administration and before the Trump administration, and said that he will continue the American policy in this region.

In the meeting with Paudel at the Ministry of Finance, he discussed financial support, effective implementation of projects under MCC and USAID, development finance, investment in the private sector, etc. Paudel requested that since there is political stability in Nepal, the main priority now is economic prosperity and for that, American assistance should be further expanded in Nepal.

American Assistant Secretary of State Lu expressed his happiness that Nepal has succeeded in maintaining economic growth and stability even though some countries in South Asia are facing economic problems. He informed that America is in favor of providing more financial support to Nepal in the future.

In the meeting with Rimal, the main topics of mutual interest were discussed and the possibilities of further strengthening Nepal-US relations were discussed . On that occasion, Rimal thanked for the continuous partnership and cooperation with Nepal.
