Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli arrived in Beijing on Monday evening for a four-day visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang. Leading an 87-member team, including 39 government representatives and 48 from the private sector, Oli, who came from a Himalayan Airlines charter plane, was welcomed by Chinese Communist Party Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Beidong at Capital International Airport in Beijing.

This is Oli's first bilateral foreign visit since he became the Prime Minister for the fourth time on June 30. He had earlier gone to New York to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly. This is Oli's third visit to China as Prime Minister. Earlier he visited China in 2073 and 2075.

Prime Minister Oli will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang on Tuesday. In the talks with the Chinese counterpart Li, the agenda between the two countries will be discussed and agreements and agreements will be signed.

Due to geopolitical interests, the Nepali side was confused for a long time about whether to sign the implementation agreement of China's ambitious project 'BRI'. The draft of 'BRI cooperation framework' went on for a long time between the ruling party Congress and UML.

The 'framework' was finalized by the working group of the two parties. Only then did the Nepali side come to the conclusion of signing the 'Framework of BRI' during the visit to China. The Nepali side believes that the Chinese side will sign it. Even though Nepal signed the memorandum of understanding of 'BRI' in 2017, it has not yet signed the 'BRI Program Implementation Plan' proposed by China in 2020.

Nepal prepared the 'BRI Cooperation Framework' by amending the draft sent by China. On Sunday, the day before the Prime Minister left for China, the Cabinet meeting approved the agenda for agreement, cooperation and agreement with China, including the framework.

Nepal has prepared a list of dozens of projects related to road infrastructure, urban development and industry-trade to be offered with China. These projects include Tokha-Chhare Tunnel, Hilsa-Simkot Road, Kimathanka-Khandbari Road & Bridge, Geelong-Kerung-Kathmandu Cross-Border Railway, Kathmandu-Hetaunda Podway, Amargadhi City Hall, Geelong-Kerung-Rasuwagadhi Chilime 220kV Cross-Border Transmission Line, Kathmandu Valley Transmission Line Upgradation, Madan Bhandari University, Kathmandu Scientific Center and Science Museum, China-Nepal Industrial Friendship Park in Damak and Jhapa Sports and Athletics Complex.

"We have prepared a document for cooperation and agreement between the two countries, which issues will be agreed upon, will be known after Tuesday's bilateral talks," said a member of the visiting team. Prime Minister Oli will also meet Chinese People's Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji on Tuesday. Oli will address the program of Peking University on Wednesday. On the same day, the Prime Minister will also address the program organized by the Nepal-China Business Forum. Prime Minister Oli will also participate in a program held by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing on Wednesday.
