Uma Lungeli Magar Sherpa of UML has won the post of Vice President of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality of Dolakha. She won by defeating the Maoist candidate by a margin of 250 votes.
Sherpa won with 2,805 votes. Sherpa's closest competitor, Nim Leki Sherpa of the Maoist Center, got 2,600 votes. Pasdiki Sherpa of Congress who is in the third place has got 1 thousand 727 votes.
7 thousand 590 votes were cast in the by-election for the post of vice president held on Sunday. According to the Election Commission, 110 votes were invalid.
Similarly, RPRPA's Mankumari Shrestha got 118 votes, Raswapa's Goma Shrestha got 100 votes and United Samajwadi Party's Ravina Khadka got 90 votes. Earlier, Shyamsundar Tamang of Congress was victorious in the local level election of 079 as the vice president of Gourishankar Rural Municipality. While she won with 4 thousand 741 votes, Muna Sivakoti KC of UML got 3 thousand 281 votes.
