Initial lead for the Maoists in the vice-chairmanship of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality

The counting of votes for the by-election for the vice president of Gourishankar Rural Municipality of Dolakha has started from Monday afternoon.  CPN-Maoist Center took the initial lead when the votes were counted in Ward No. 1 and 2.

Maoist candidate Nimleki Sherpa is leading with 809 votes. His nearest rival, Uma Lungeli Magar Sherpa of CPN-UML has got 447 votes.

Similarly, Pasdiki Sherpa of Nepali Congress has got 240 votes. Goma Shrestha of RSVP has got 18 and Ravina Khadka of United Samajwadi has got 14 votes.  

48.28 percent (7 thousand 589 votes) fell in the by-election held on Sunday for the post of vice president.

Earlier in the election of 2079, Shyamsundar Tamang of Congress won by getting 4 thousand 741 votes as Gaurishankar's vice-president . His nearest competitor Muna Sivakoti KC of UML got 3 thousand 281 votes. In the election of 2079, there was an alliance between the Congress and the Maoists. Maoist's Vishwas Karki won the chairmanship.
