It has been confirmed that the vehicle used by Ravi Lamichhane, the then managing director of Gorkha Media Network, was purchased from the savings of Swarnalaxmi Sahakari. Checks cut by Lamichhane himself to pay the loan taken out from Swarnalakshmi for various purposes, including the purchase of a ``Toyota Fortuner'' worth 2.5 crores, have also been found.

With the announcement of Galaxy TV on February 11, 2077, Lamichhane became the shareholder, director and managing director of Gorkha Media Network Pvt. In the meantime, a large sum of money was withdrawn from Swarnalakshmi on various dates in the name of GB Rai and Lamichhane and in the name of Gorkha Media Pvt. Lamichhane, the then managing director of

company, cut 15 checks and paid 89 lakh 6660 rupees. Similarly, Rai, the president of the company, cut a check of four lakhs. In this way, Gorkha Media has paid 93 lakh 6 thousand 660 rupees to Swarnalakshmi Cooperative through 16 checks.

Lamichhane, who has been defrauding the sovereign parliament and his own voters by claiming that he has no knowledge about the illegal transactions between the cooperative and the company, has been brought from Pokhara to Kathmandu for a statement after evidence was found that he embezzled the savings of the cooperative and got a car from the company. Earlier on November 27, he was also taken to Bhairahawa.

Swarnalakshmi Sahakari, which has its head office in Kalimati-14, New Road, Maharajganj, Swayambhu and Jorpati, has collected savings of 2.65 billion 9.5 million from 6,669 ordinary people. Out of that, 1 billion 11 billion rupees were embezzled after 645 savers filed a complaint, the police is investigating. However, when Lamichhane was Home Minister, the investigation was blocked. Therefore, a parliamentary committee was formed to investigate.

2755 cc Toyota Fortuner imported from Birgunj Customs in January 2077 was purchased in the name of GB Group of Companies on June 13, 2078. Three months later, on October 6, the vehicle was transferred to the name of Gorkha Media Network. Between these two dates, on July 5, a loan under the title of 'Charpangre Karja' was raised in the name of GB Rai and Ravi Lamichhane and money was withdrawn from Swarnalakshmi Cooperative. Even though the amount was taken on different dates before and after the purchase of the vehicle, the proper paperwork was not completed. But the transaction has been confirmed by the check cut by Lamichhane himself to pay the installments. The police are investigating the amount owed by the company to the cooperative.

On the other hand, after the Kaski police started an investigation into the misappropriation of Suryadarshan Cooperative's savings, it was found that the vehicle belonging to Gorkha Media was sold. Toyota Fortuner 2080 has been transferred in the name of Pandey of Sindhupalchok Melamchi on October 12th. 6 days after that, on October 18, a case was filed against 18 people in the Kaski District Court for 1 billion 110 million bigos in Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud. Since then GB Rai is absconding, the police head office has issued a 'red notice' through Interpol, while Lamichhane Kaski is in police custody.

The police have received the fact that Rai and Lamichhane embezzled Rs. Meanwhile, Lamichhane and the then owner of Gorkha Media, Chabilal Joshi, were taken by the police to give a statement on the Supreme Cooperative fraud in Butwal. After that, the police brought Joshi to Kathmandu and took his statement for bringing both of them to Kaski.
