Eight people have been arrested for beating and killing 30-year-old 'information activist' Suresh Bhool of Gauriganga municipality-11 Kantipur tol of Kailali.  On the evening of October 24, Suresh was beaten up by a group including his neighbor Jange Bhool.

Suresh, who was seriously injured in the beating, was taken to Nisarga Hospital in Dhangadhi by his wife Kalpana for treatment. Suresh died during treatment on Monday morning. Suresh was beaten up accusing him of stealing a goat belonging to his neighbor Vishna Bhool.

Vishna's goat, which was lost on November 20th, was seen near the medicine shop run by Suresh and Kalpana on the afternoon of the 23rd.

Kalpana, the wife of the deceased Suresh, says, "On the morning of the 23rd, when he saw a goat at the main door of the ward office, he (Suresh) brought it saying that it should be tied up. We also asked to look at the CCTV of Napatya ward office.'

Although Suresh and his family claimed that they did not steal the goats, the Vishna side accused each other of stealing and beat them to death. After all the villages of Vishna Paksha were united, nothing happened to Suresh and his family. Ward 11 Chairman Sahebwal Choudhary said that he reported to the area police office Masuria as the conflict between the two sides was increasing.

'Before informing the police, we also checked the CCTV footage. The incident happened as Suresh said in the footage. It was seen that Suresh grabbed the goat that was sitting at the door of the ward office,' said the ward president Chowdhury, 'I also showed the footage to the police.'

All the Vishna factions present in large numbers at the local police accused Suresh of theft and demanded that they pay a fine of one lakh rupees. But when Suresh said that he would give 30,000, an agreement was reached between the two parties.

District Police Kailali SP Padma Bahadur Bista claimed that there is no agreement in the area police. "There was a document written in our post saying that no beating, no fighting," SP Bisht said, "First, when Suresh told about the goat he had bought, the fight started between both parties."

According to Kalpana, on the second day of the agreement to pay 30,000, on the 24th, at 7:00 p.m., the person from the Vishna side came to collect the money, and when it took 30,000 days, they again claimed 100,000. "They asked for one lakh, then they came in a large group including Jang Bhool and started brutally beating him. After he (Suresh) fell on the ground, I picked him up and took him to Dhangadhi Hospital," she said.

Suresh died on October 26 morning during treatment at Nisarga Hospital Dhangadhi. Both Suresh and his wife, who have three daughters, are also health workers. Suresh, who studied CMA, ran a medicine shop near the ward office of Gauriganga-11. Anami Kalpana was working in the birthing center of the ward office.

Suresh, who was running a drug store after studying CMA, joined the National Federation for Right to Information, Kailali, and was active as an activist for the right to information. Sher Bahadur Sarki, publisher/editor of Sudoorpati Online, said that Suresh, who is also the secretary of Dalit Journalist Association Kailali, was also working in his online a few months ago. Suresh, who is also the conciliator of the ward office, used to ask for information about public concerns.  Kailali Police Spokesperson Kavindra Bahadur Bohra said that the police have arrested eight people after filing a complaint against nine people saying that Kalpana was involved in the murder of her husband. According to Bohra, those arrested are 65-year-old Jange Bhool, 18-year-old Dinesh Bhool, 23-year-old Vishal Vick, 30-year-old Dharma Vick, 34-year-old Rama Rawal, 18-year-old Dinesh Vick, 35-year-old Vishna Vick and 24-year-old Ramesh Rawal. Another accused Pawan Bogti is absconding.  Organizations including the Federation of Journalists have protested against the

incident and asked for a thorough investigation. "Even though he belonged to the Dalit community, Suresh, who was educated in the village and had a normal income, was asking for information in public bodies, raising awareness, and writing against the situation on social media," said Yogesh Rawal, President of the Federation of Journalists Sudurpaschim Province Committee after the on-site study of the incident. . He seems to have already been noticed. There was a group of 50/60 people at the time of the beating. It seems that he was beaten in a planned way without getting any external injuries.'  According to

president Rawal, Suresh had been writing news by joining online for a few months. Deepak Upadhyay, president of the National Federation for Right to Information, Kailali, claimed that Suresh was killed because he had been seeking information from public bodies and making it public. The Central Committee of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists has formed a research team under the coordination of Secretary Hemkarna Wik and has started the on-site study from Friday.
