Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal entered the ministry as a new face on June 31. He was a new face to the staff. Because earlier, the old faces often repeated themselves as ministers. Everyone looked more optimistic towards Dahal as they had seen the old face's style of work many times.

However, according to that, it does not seem that the 100-day term can be completed easily. The reason is that the road infrastructure was the same as it was yesterday when the old faces were ministers, it remained the same when Dahal came. The roads that have been under construction for years have not yet been completed. In which Minister Dahal could not take 'action' on the non-working contractor . Now the most problem is in the Narayangadh-Butwal road section . When Dahal came as minister, the progress in construction has not increased.

During Dasain, passengers had to suffer because the road was flooded many times. Passengers stayed on the road. As a result, hundreds of passengers who went home for Dasain from the valley could not reach their destination on time. The transport business canceled the booking and returned the passenger's money saying that the road was obstructed. Which problem repeated again and again . However, it took time to get an immediate solution. Similarly, during the festival, Dahal instructed all agencies from the ministry to make pothole-free roads, that rule could not be applied to the Narayangadh-Butwal road section. As a result, there is no option for the driver to drive the vehicle avoiding the pothole.

The expansion of this road was started on Chait 8, 2075. So far only 53 percent progress. The contract for the 113 km road expansion was taken by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. When the company did not make progress in the work, it was warned to break the contract by issuing a one-month notice in the first week of October 079. The contract was not broken after the contractor promised to complete the work soon.

Narayangadh-Butwal road is not progressing as expected Chudaraj Dhakal, project head of Directorate of Projects (ADB) said . "We are saying to increase the progress, if we do not increase the progress as specified by December, we will go to the process of breaking the contract," he said. By dividing it into two parts, the contract amount is 16 billion 99 million 52 lakh 96 thousand rupees. After the work was not completed within the specified time, the deadline was extended for the second time till July 8, 081. After the work was not completed during this period too, the deadline was extended for the third time till July 8, 2008. From

, there is not a day without traffic jam from Nagadhunga to Muglin, where there is more traffic. During the rainy season, more than 500 small and big landslides occurred and the road became blocked. On the way down from Nagadhunga, 35 passengers died when two micros and a passenger bus fell into the Jhaple river in a 2.7 km stretch. The risk of landslides has not gone away on this road section yet. This road has been divided into three sections for upgrading. But the road has become chaotic. In the name of upgradation, road destruction has made travel difficult.

As the first package in this section, the distance of Nagadhunga-Naubise section is 12.26 km. On 29 Chait 29, 2078, the contract for Nagadhunga-Naubise section was signed for 1 billion 30 million rupees. Construction is to be completed by May 27, 2081, the deadline has been extended to January 081. So far, the overall physical progress of the contract taken by Jangsu-Sagun JV is 61 percent. The second package is Naubise-Malekhu section, which has a distance of 43.54 km. The contract amount is 5 billion 33 million 19 million rupees. The contract agreement was signed on May 14, 1979, and the work of this section should be completed by June 27, 1982, so far the physical progress is 24 percent.

The section from Malekhu to Muglin is placed in the third package. The contract amount of this section is 4 billion 805 million rupees. The contract agreement for this road section of 38.86 km was signed on January 15, 2079, and the duration is three years. However, after more than half the time has passed, only 16 percent has made physical progress. Overall, construction progress is slow.

Ever since the upgrading of the Muglin-Pokhara road started, there is not a day when the passengers do not struggle to reach their destination. Ambukhaireni-Jamune 1st (East) and Jamune-Pokhara 2nd (West) are divided into two sections and the road upgrading has been started with the loan support of ADB. It was contracted in the financial year 077/78. The distance from Ambukhaireni to Pokhara is 80.33 km.

The overall physical progress in Ambukhareni-Pokhara road extension is 49 percent. Landslides on this section of the road have stopped traffic from time to time. Ambukhaireni-Jamune section has 66 percent construction progress and Jamune-Pokhara section has 31 percent progress so far. The initial deadline for Ambukhaireni-Jamune section was 081 Baisakh. 5 months was extended . The project said that it is ready to extend the deadline again. The deadline of Jamune-Pokhara section was extended by 3 months and 11 days with the condition of speedy work. After the work was not completed in the extended time, the process of extending the deadline has been started .

The contract for the first phase was taken by China Construction Company Corporation. Its distance is 41.45 km. The contract for the second section up to Jamune-Pokhara Seti Bridge was taken by Yan Hui Construction. Its distance is 38.88 km. 6 billion 21 crore 31 lakh for the first section and 7.40 crore 46 lakh rupees for the second section. There was no work in the west section before, now it is doing well. Work is in progress on the eastern section.

Sushilbalu Dhakal, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport claimed that many of the goals set by Minister Dahal during his 100-day tenure have been achieved. He said, "When the work was being done to achieve the target, there was a lot of trouble due to the flood that came from October 10 to 12, and the natural disaster made it difficult to achieve the target." was . "However, the flood that occurred in Asoj has damaged the repaired road," he said, "the 32.2 km national highway has been expanded to two lanes and the progress of Siddhababa tunnel construction has increased." He said that it has been done and the construction of the flyover is underway. He said that after paying the revenue for the driver's license, the process of giving the card with QR has been started. But the embossed number plate connection has not yet become effective.

In eight years, only 66 thousand 715 vehicles have been equipped with embossed number plates. 5 lakh 80 thousand 886 embossed number plates have been produced. Decatur-Tiger IT Company of Bangladesh and America took the contract in joint venture on 073 June 19 for connecting the embossed number. According to the

agreement, embossed numbers should be installed on 2.5 million vehicles within 5 years. Although the contractor company extended the deadline several times, the connection work has not been completed . After the deadline expired in June 078, the deadline was extended till 12th November 080. After the work was not completed in that period too, the time was extended by two years. The initial contract amount was 4 billion 1679 million 50 thousand rupees (excluding value added tax), but the amount was increased by 22.50 percent with the extension of the deadline.

Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal said that natural calamities have created problems to work according to the target. "There was a target to build some roads and three bridges, but due to landslides, all the targets were overshadowed," he said He said that transportation has been brought into operation by connecting the bailey bridge to the river. "Elsewhere, where the bridge has to be washed away, the preliminary study has been done," he said, "we have to manage the Nagadhunga-Muglin road, which has the highest traffic volume." He said that it was disclosed. "We have put this highway into operation on a temporary basis, we have made the construction of the road permanent," he said He said that although he promised to start the work immediately, it could not be done accordingly.

'The work has not started yet, now we are reaching the final conclusion, the next option is to break the contract and make a new one,' he said, 'we will wait for a few days while the Chinese company's team is studying, if we delay it again, we are not going to wait for many days  .'

Gaurav's projects Madhyapahari, Corridor Road (Koshi, Karnali and Kaligandaki), Hulaki Highway, Madan Bhandari Highway have not been able to take up the pace. It has been more than 6 years since the second section of ring road was started. Even after two months have passed since the signing of the letter between the representatives of the government of Nepal and China regarding cooperation in expansion, the further process has not been able to proceed . On August 6, a letter was signed between the representatives of Nepal and China regarding cooperation in expansion.

The government has withheld land for three years in the Kakdvitta-Inaruwa section under the East-West Electric Railway . For the railway, the government through the land office of the three districts has reserved hundreds of bighas of 5,424 lots of land, 2,457 in Jhapa, 1,638 in Morang and 1,329 in Sunsari. The locals of this area have not yet been able to get compensation.
