China has expressed its condolences to the severe floods and landslides that have killed more than 200 people in Nepal and has assured support. On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his Nepali counterpart Dr. The Chinese media have mentioned that Arju Rana Deuba has expressed such solidarity by sending a message of consolation.
'I am shocked to learn that there have been a large number of casualties as well as physical damage in the severe floods in Nepal,' Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has mentioned. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in the calamity. Minister Wang comforted the families of the deceased and the injured and pledged support.
Being a neighbor with mountains and rivers, China is willing to provide all possible support and assistance in disaster relief according to Nepal's needs, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang expressed.
Earlier, Wang met Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his counterpart Dr. Rana during the United Nations General Assembly held in New York last September.
In the meeting with the Nepali delegation, Minister Wang said that Nepal and China, which are connected by mountains and rivers, have a common destiny. He said that China has always placed Nepal in an important position in its neighborhood diplomacy, to bring the China-Nepal community closer with a common future, and to promote BRI and other cooperation by both sides, he said that the 75th anniversary of China should be used.
According to the Chinese media, on September 26, Wang Yi told the team led by Prime Minister Oli that China will always cooperate to protect the sovereignty, independence and geographical integrity of Nepal, that Nepal should find a path for successful development according to its national situation, and that any power should not use Nepal's land to engage in anti-China activities. He appreciated the repeated commitment of Nepal.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang welcomed the declaration of 2025 as 'Nepal Tourism Year' by saying that China's decision to give 100% zero duty to all underdeveloped countries that have established diplomatic relations with China will make it easier for more Nepali products to enter China.
