Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the sports sector and cultural sector will play an important role for national unity. He said that this year was an unforgettable year as he received international medals.
On Wednesday, FM organized by All Nepal Chess Association. President Dahal said this while speaking at the Sujendra Prasad Shrestha Pratham Smriti Veteran National Chess Tournament ceremony.
He said that he has been paying special attention to sports and cultural fields since he became the prime minister for the first time. He said that national unity will be promoted through sports. Stating that the sports sector is an important strategic sector to maintain discipline and dignity in the society, he said that the cultural sector also promotes national unity by binding all races, languages, regions, classes and communities in one formula.
He said, 'Since I became the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Nepal, I have had special attention in two areas, apart from politics and development, and still have. One is sports. I have been giving high priority to sports because of my understanding that the sports sector is an important strategic area to promote national unity through sports, to start a new journey of development and prosperity of the country, and to lead the society towards a method of maintaining discipline and dignity in the society. Another is the field of culture.
He said that Nepal has succeeded in winning medals in international sports competitions and said that this year has become a year that will never end. He expressed his belief that the chess tournament will gradually be established as an important competition in the sports field of the country.
