Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, Member of Parliament of CPN (Maoist Centre) in the National Assembly, reminded that the Dalit community is still being discriminated against and oppressed under various pretexts. Speaking in the National Assembly on Sunday, MP Vishwakarma said that the government is not serious about the discrimination against the Dalit community and that the Dalit community is not getting justice.
He said that Dalits are oppressed by traditional thinking and style under various pretexts and the absence of Dalit community in the government is also a continuation of the oppression of Dalits.
He said, 'Even today, Dalits are being discriminated and oppressed on one or the other pretext. We are seeing it in every village, every village, every district. Where heinous crimes like beatings, kidnappings, murders, rapes are taking place. And the victims are not getting justice in those cases. We have said it many times. The government has not been serious about this matter.'
MP Vishwakarma accused the government of insulting the Dalit community by appointing a state minister who does not even have the right to sit in the cabinet. Dalits were always outside the door. Now the Prime Minister has tried to suppress the rights of the Dalit community by giving them a state minister. But the Minister of State has no authority. The Minister of State does not even have the right to sit in the Council of Ministers meeting,' he said.
