The Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC) Nepal has published the 17-point Kathmandu Declaration at the Beijing Plus 30 National Women's Conference on Friday. BBC Nepal has published the 'Kathmandu Declaration' to advocate for a treaty for a gender-responsive future.
In the conference, separate workshops were presented on 14 topics including 12 sensitive topics and 2 emerging topics related to women.

A parallel report of the civil society was prepared by the BBC Committee Nepal reviewing the activities done by the government, non-government and private sectors on the issue of women in five years. The report will be presented at the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. In the
program, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Shah said that although achievements have been made in the field of women, there is still a lot of work to be done. He said that everyone's commitment is needed to face challenges such as gender violence against women, discrimination and unequal access to resources.
Similarly, in the conference, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vidya Bhattarai emphasized that education is the only weapon to remove discrimination against women not only in our society but also in our minds.
In the conference, the president Krishna Kumari Baiwa drew attention to the fact that although the government has been creating and implementing various policies and laws so far, there is no proportional and inclusive participation of women of all ages in every body in line with the goals of the Beijing Declaration and Platform.
In the Kathmandu Declaration published by BBC Nepal, it is mentioned that in order to achieve gender equality and women's empowerment, a gender responsive governance system should be institutionalized as mentioned in the National National Gender Equality Policy 2077.
It is mentioned in the manifesto that the government is requested to enact a comprehensive anti-discrimination law as defined by the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and in accordance with the recommendations given by the SID Committee to end all forms of discrimination against girls and women.
Likewise, by amending the contradictory provisions of Article 11, Clauses 3, 5 and 7 of the Constitution, in accordance with the CID Convention, affirming the equal and fundamental human rights of women as legitimate citizens of Nepal, urging the government to take immediate steps to establish the non-negotiable rights of women to citizenship. It is mentioned in the manifesto that easy facilities should be provided without discrimination on the basis of gender, sexuality and community.
