Mahesh Bertaula, the chief whip of the ruling UML, has said that the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, is behaving in a way that challenges the existing legal arrangements of the state. UML's chief whip Bertaula said at the federal parliament complex on Tuesday that the latest expression of Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, was not suitable for official dignity. Bertaula said that Mayor Shah had expressed contemptuously, rudely and arrogantly against UML President and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

He himself is spoiling the dignity of that institution . He should think that the comments made by him are making an honorable and dignified post like the mayor very bad. A young man is a situation that many people have hoped for him. That's why you are in such an important and dignified responsibility of the mayor by waking up that trust and hope,' said Bertaula, 'What you are always presenting in a rude, arrogant way towards the leadership of this country, towards the former prime minister, is not good .
