General Secretary of Nepal Media Society Madan Lamsal has said that the president of Kantipur Media Group Kailash Sirohia was arrested in panchayat style. In a press conference held at the Central Business Park on Wednesday, General Secretary Lamsal said that wrong steps have been taken on behalf of the home administration and the government.
Stating that anyone can be interrogated and investigated according to the law, Lamsal said that Sirohia was arrested from the media house in a dictatorial style.
'We all media-related organizations are in favor of this wrongdoing . We strongly resist and oppose it Until Kailash Sirohia, the owner of Kantipur Media House, is released honorably,' he said, 'according to the rules given by the law, anyone can be interrogated . Be it through its legal process . It came to the working room in the wrong way and was arrested from the media house in a panchayat style in a dictatorial style.'
General Secretary Lamsal also says that the communication industry is being attacked by dictatorial governments all over the world. "We will always oppose the fact that the work has been done by the government from the home administration. Attacking the press on the grounds that they are in power is common all over the world . The president of Kantipur Media Group, Sirohia, was arrested from the office on Tuesday on the pretext that the citizenship number given by the district administration matched that of another person.
The police team reached the eighth floor office of the Kantipur office to arrest President Sirohia while he was at work trampling on the democratic practice of not allowing security agencies of the state to enter the office of the independent press.
