The parliamentary committee has directed to provide salt at a reasonable price for the citizens living in the remote areas of the country. The Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committee of the House of Representatives has instructed the government to provide salt to the remote districts of the country.
Monday's meeting of the
committee said that there is still a shortage of salt in the municipalities of the remote districts and instructed the government to provide salt easily in all the municipalities. The committee has also instructed to maintain the quality of chemical fertilizers, sugar and essential food items supplied by Salt Trading Corporation. Similarly, the committee has said to end the black market and artificial scarcity.

'Salt is the main food item for human beings . Although the supply of salt is somewhat easier in the accessible areas of Nepal, there is still a shortage in the municipalities of the remote districts, so the government of Nepal will instruct the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to ensure the availability of salt in all the municipalities of the country, Chairman Khan said. To direct the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to arrange a simple supply system while maintaining the quality of essential food items and ending the black market and artificial shortage of those items.
Committee has instructed the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply to arrange the necessary arrangements for the payment of the amount claimed to the Government of Nepal under various headings for the smooth operation of the Salt Trading Corporation.
