It has been found that Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the former Assembly Speaker and Vice Chairman of the ruling Maoist Center, who was arrested on charges of gold smuggling, has been close to the Chinese gang since a decade ago. Mahara, who was involved in the investigation of gold smuggling through electronic cigarettes (Vape), was found to be in a suspicious role in other cases as well. But there was no investigation in that case.

After the political changes of 2062/63, with the Maoist peace process, Mahara became an MP 4 times, a minister 6 times and a speaker once. But in the last 13 years, it has been found that he is in constant relationship and contact with gold smugglers.

According to the information received from the Commission of Inquiry on Controlling Gold Smuggling, the Ministry of Home Affairs and Nepal Police sources, strong evidence has been found that Mahara has been helping gold smugglers since 2067 by staying close to Chinese gangs. In the days after his relationship with the gold smuggler, Mahara became Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Finance and after the general election of 2074, he became the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He resigned from his position on October 14, 2076, after an employee of the Parliament Secretariat was accused of sexual abuse. He was arrested by the police and prosecuted. It took 4 days to take a statement for bringing him to Kathmandu.

Even though he was given a 'dispensation' to stay out of custody because of his poor health, more than a dozen facts have been found against him that he helped gold smugglers. In the VEP case, Mahara was seen only in connection with his relationship with the gold smuggler Dawajin Wang, it is seen that he was involved in the protection of the smuggler in Kathmandu to the endowment of the vehicles used by the gold smuggler.

However, the investigation shows that Dawajin is not only a fruit shop, but also a logistic supporter of hydro, an importer of herbs, carpets, food, electronic materials and smuggles gold.

Mahara did not mention anything about Dawajin's other business in the statement. It was found that the same vehicle was also used by the gold smuggler Dawa Chiring. Dawa Chiring is currently in jail pending trial in the 61 kg gold smuggling case. Jeevan Kumar Gurung, another accused of gold smuggling, has also admitted that Mahara has an unnatural relationship with the Chinese gang. Jeevan Kumar Gurung, who appeared as a co-defendant, was in contact with Dawajin Wang 17 times, Dipesh Pun 266 times, Rahul Mahara 4 times, Nirmal Mahara 8 times, Krishna Bahadur Maharasag 41 times.
