Little Angels College of Management (LACM)'s Hult Prize in collaboration with Digo System Foundation organized an entrepreneurship fair in Patan on Friday. The one-day fair was held today at the Pilachhen Community Homestay in Patan.

The fair provided a platform for various entrepreneurs to present their products, ideas, and innovations to the community. There were 30 stalls at the fair.

Some of the entrepreneurs participating in the fair had just started their businesses. Some said that the fair would help them to spread the word about the business they have been doing for years to more and more people.

Some were seen selling various handmade clothes, some entrepreneurs were selling flowers made from ribbons. Some were selling dishes of different flavors.

Luna Marhajan and Minisa Marhajan are young in age. Luna is only 20 years old, while Minisa is only 18. They are pursuing a bachelor's degree. Both are pursuing BCA. They make hand-woven items from yarn. They have been selling various items like woven necklaces, flowers, bags, wristbands, clips, etc. made to order.

They said that this is their first time setting up a stall at the enterprise fair.  Luna said, ‘We have not been working for very long.  This is the first stall we have set up.  I am very happy.  I think such a fair will be of great help to those like us who are just starting their business.  Both of them said that they dream of doing business in Nepal. 

Similarly, Jyoti Marhajan had set up her stall with the aim of making her online business better.  For about a year, she has been making and selling scented candles called ‘Light from Himalayas’.  ‘We make candles of various types and designs.  They not only look attractive but also smell good,’ she said, ‘Its smell is also very sweet.  The design is also good. Jyoti says that their business is good because today's youth like these materials and they are in high demand.

Similarly, Swarna Tamrakar was keeping her various materials in a stall with the aim of making her business flourish. Various materials like copper cups, mobile covers, hair oil, earrings, rubber were in her stall. Swarna has been doing business with various materials like copper glasses for 23 years. She said that she came with the aim of letting everyone know about her business as there is a lot of business online. 'Nowadays, people find it easier to order goods online than to go to a store and buy goods. That is why we have come here so that everyone knows about our business,' she said, 'We also have a shop. But these days, a lot of business is done online. हा.’

In this way, a group of local women were selling Newari food in Pilachhen. Geeta Marhajan said that such a fair helps people from other communities to know about the dishes they cook, their customs and culture. She said, ‘Rather than wasting time sitting at home, such a fair helps to spend time in a good way, earn money and many people also know about the customs and culture of our community.’ They have a group of 6 people. She says that they earn at least 7 to 8 thousand from a fair.

The group that displayed the materials they made at the enterprise fair with the idea of ​​doing something in Nepal was mostly young people. 18-year-old Dilasha Basukala was selling bouquets she made. She too has been making bouquets from ribbons and selling them only 6 months ago. Dilasha used to make bouquets only in her spare time. After her friends liked it a lot and asked her to make them for herself, she decided to make and sell bouquets of ribbons.

She said that her business is now very good and that her dream is to live and work in Nepal. ‘Initially, I started making them because I liked them.’ After everyone liked them and ordered them, I am now doing online business,’ she said, ‘It is already good. I have never dreamed of going outside Nepal. I want to live and work in Nepal.’

Women entrepreneurs who are affiliated with various organizations also said that they came with the aim of promoting the various materials they have made.

Sarita Tamang and Bhagwati Shrestha were coming to the fair to sell bags, backpacks and various Nepali products they have made. They, who have been working with Sungabha Nepal for seven years, said that they came to the business fair with the aim of making everyone aware of their organization. They said that such fairs would help their businesses flourish.

Entrepreneurs participating in the business fair said that if such a fair is held from time to time, it would be of great help to entrepreneurs who want to do something in Nepal.

Campus Director of Halt Prize at LACM Ichcha Chand said that the fair provided a platform to many entrepreneurs and that the fair was completed as they had expected. ‘We had organized the fair to help the youth who are doing business with the idea of ​​doing something in Nepal grow.’ She said that the fair was successful, ‘Plastic was not used anywhere.’ We got a chance to learn a lot from today’s fair.

Chand said that the fair was organized with the aim of empowering small entrepreneurs, encouraging participants, supporting local economic activities, and community development.

The Leo Club of Alka also organized a blood donation camp at the fair.
