The process of forming the Employers' Council, which is the main institutional mechanism under the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry to represent labor and employment-related policies, social dialogue, and employer interests, has been completed.

In the first meeting of the council, on Thursday, Federation President Anjan Shrestha handed over the nomination papers to the members of the council formed under the chairmanship of Employers' Council President Prabal Jung Pandey.

Shrestha said that the role of the Employers' Council is very important in reforming and strengthening the labor and employment sector and establishing industry-business-friendly labor relations.

Stating that the current industrial labor relations are becoming more positive and harmonious compared to the past, he informed that discussions are underway at the ministerial level on determining the minimum wage on a sectoral basis.

In this context, he stressed that the council members should formulate a common view of the private sector and advocate for effective policies based on facts, studies and international best practices.
