Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Hyundai in Nepal, has organized the ‘Hyundai Next Gen Cup’ football tournament in collaboration with AG-10 Academy. 80 young players from eight teams participated in the Under-16 (U-16) one-day tournament held at the Chyasal Ground in Lalitpur.

The competition was contested by Team Creta Electric, Team Venue, Team Ioniq 5, Team Exter, Team Kona, Team Creta, Team Grand i-10 Nios and Team Palisade. Team Venue emerged victorious by defeating Team Creta Electric in the final, the company said.

According to the company, the objective of the tournament is to develop grassroots football and provide an opportunity for young players to showcase their talents in a competitive environment. The company says that the tournament is expected to boost the confidence of the players and contribute to the grassroots development of Nepali football.

At the event, Anil Gurung, director of AG-10 Academy and former captain of the Nepali national football team, said that such competitions will give young players the confidence to dream big and fulfill them.

Hyundai, the official partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026, has announced that it has organized a competition to promote grassroots football in Nepal as well, as per its ‘Next Starts Now’ concept. The company has expressed its commitment to continue such programs that provide opportunities to young players in the coming days.
