Digital payment service provider Esewa has announced that it is expanding citizens' access to health insurance through 'Sahara Health Insurance', launched in collaboration with Shikhar Insurance. According to the company, this insurance plan will start with a minimum premium of Rs 1,399 and will provide insurance coverage of up to Rs 600,000.
According to Esewa, since the plan is completely digital, customers do not have to go through any paperwork or visit the insurance company's office. Insurance can be purchased and renewed in a few minutes through the Esewa app.
Under the plan, customers will be able to choose health insurance of up to Rs 100,000, 200,000 or 500,000 as per their needs and age. The company has stated that the insurance will cover 24 hours or more of hospitalization treatment, cashless treatment in more than 25 hospitals, more than 150 day-care services and eligible medical expenses before and after hospitalization. In addition, accident insurance of up to Rs 100,000 is also included.
This plan, available for the age group of 5 to 65 years, can be purchased from the 'Insurance' section of the eSewa app, the company has stated. After payment, the insurance policy will be available digitally immediately.
ESewa has stated that more than 10,000 customers have benefited from this plan, which has been in operation since last Bhadra, in less than a year. The company has also been providing other insurance plans in collaboration with various insurance companies.
