The foundation stone of an artificial groundwater recharge project has been laid at the Civil Service Hospital with the aim of strengthening urban water security in Kathmandu.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of this project, which is being implemented as a joint initiative of Bottlers Nepal Limited (BNL) and the Center for Integrated Urban Development (CIUD), was attended by representatives of Civil Service Hospital, Coca-Cola Beverages Nepal (CCBN) and CIUD. The program emphasized the need for cooperation from all parties to solve the growing water-related challenges in the Kathmandu Valley. The project is said to present a model of an effective system for recharging underground aquifers by collecting rainwater and surface water. This system, which will collect water from an area of ​​about 4,345 square meters, is expected to recharge about 6.25 million liters of groundwater annually.
