A strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Educational Consulting Association of Nepal (ECAN) and the International Education Providers Association of Nepal (IEPAN) with the aim of establishing Nepal as an international education destination, making the ‘Study in Nepal’ campaign effective, and promoting the internationalization of higher education.

The MoU sets forth the common goal of promoting quality higher education in Nepal, expanding collaboration with international-level educational institutions, providing reliable consulting services to students, and developing Nepal as an attractive study destination for international students.

ECAN has been the leading and largest umbrella organization in the educational consulting sector in Nepal for three decades. The organization has been facilitating thousands of Nepali students to reach prestigious educational institutions in the world and promoting safe, transparent, ethical, and quality educational consulting services.

Similarly, IEPAN is a common organization of institutions that provide international-level higher education in Nepal with the affiliation of foreign universities and the approval of the Ministry of Education. The organization has been working with the goal of providing quality higher education domestically, encouraging research and innovation, expanding international educational cooperation, and developing Nepal as an international education hub.

According to the agreement, ICAN member institutions will now have direct access to educational programs, admission processes, admission criteria, scholarships, career opportunities, and other educational information operated in IPAN member colleges and educational institutions. This is expected to help provide more factual, updated, and quality educational counseling services to students and parents.

Both organizations have also expressed their commitment to making institutional collaboration more effective by developing a professional, transparent, ethical, and responsible work culture.

Another important aspect of the agreement is the agreement to jointly advance the ‘Study in Nepal’ campaign. Under this, the goals are to promote Nepal as an attractive study destination for international students, increase foreign student enrollment, internationally brand Nepal’s higher education, expand research and international partnerships, and strengthen educational diplomacy.

Through this campaign, it is stated that efforts will be made to effectively present Nepal's higher education system to the international community and connect foreign students, researchers and educational partners with Nepal.

According to the understanding, both organizations will jointly conduct national and international promotional programs under capacity building programs, interaction, educational orientation, research, policy dialogue, B2B networking, international education conferences and the 'Study in Nepal' campaign. It is believed that this will make coordination, cooperation and information exchange between organizations working in the education sector more effective.

Both organizations have also agreed to conduct joint programs under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It is stated that collaboration will be made to provide scholarships and special educational opportunities to economically disadvantaged, talented, talented and disadvantaged students in IPAN member institutions.

Through this partnership, it is stated that joint work will be done to provide accurate, reliable and up-to-date information about international-level higher education to students, parents and stakeholders, further strengthen the quality educational counseling system, expand access to international educational opportunities and enhance the international recognition of Nepal's education sector.

The MoU was signed by ICAN President Laxman Poudel and IPAN President Laxman KC. At the signing ceremony, the leadership of both organizations expressed confidence that this collaboration will make a significant contribution to making Nepal's international education sector more systematic, competitive, reliable and student-friendly. They also expressed their commitment to expand collaboration with the government, universities, private sector and international partners to advance the 'Study in Nepal' campaign as a national campaign.
