The Asia Fintech Alliance (AFA) is organizing the first-ever 'AFA Awards'. Nominations are now open for this. Nominated companies from member organizations in 16 countries will compete in the awards. Each member organization can nominate a maximum of seven companies.

The competing companies will be evaluated in two stages by a panel of venture capital investors and industry experts from 16 economies, AFA said. The awards will have five categories: Grand Award-Cross Border Fintech Unicorn Potential, Financial Infrastructure Award, Regulatory Excellence Award, Market Expansion Award and Fastest Growth Award.

The nomination process will run from June 8 to July 5, according to the organizers. The AFA Awards ceremony will be held in Taipei on September 1.
