The active participation of Nepal's private sector in the Select USA Investment Summit organized in the United States has shown a new sign towards expanding bilateral economic relations. The American Chamber of Commerce, Nepal (AmCham) has stated that participating in the summit is an important step towards increasing global economic engagement.
AmCham Nepal President Kailash Vijayananda said that the participation of the Nepali delegation will help domestic companies move forward in international competition. He positively mentioned the recent policy reforms made by the Nepal government in the information technology sector.
Five Nepali companies including BizServ, Swift Fin, Kodavatar, Green Tick and Event Mo were participating in the summit. The companies presented their expansion plans and highlighted Nepal's growing capacity in innovation and world-class competitive human resources.
This initiative, coordinated by AmCham Nepal and led by Executive Director Amir Thapa, has shown Nepal's growing readiness to connect with the global market. It is also stated that the aim is to establish the private sector as a key driver of bilateral economic growth.
During the summit held in Maryland, Nepali companies discussed market access, partnerships and long-term investment opportunities with global investors, US government officials and economic development-related agencies. This participation of the private sector indicates that business leadership cooperation in Nepal-US relations is becoming stronger.
During the summit, the US side emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations through trade in high-level interactions with the US Department of State and the US Department of Commerce. At the event organized by the embassy, Deputy Assistant Secretary Bethany P. Morrison noted the positive momentum seen after recent high-level visits and said that the US is willing to help create a conducive business environment in Nepal and support the development of the private sector.
Similarly, Sharad Raj Aran, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in the US, expressed confidence in the capabilities and global outlook of Nepali enterprises.
