Suryajyoti Life Insurance Company has signed an agreement to invest 25 percent in the Far West's first five-star international hotel 'Holiday Inn Dhangadhi'. The company has entered into the project by taking a share in Club Chaulani Limited located in Dhangadhi.
The hotel will be operated under the Holiday Inn Dhangadhi brand under the international hotel group IHG Hotels and Resorts. It is said that it will be the first international-level five-star hotel in the Far West Province.
Club Chaulani Chairman Dr. Rajendra KC, referring to Dhangadhi as the commercial and tourism gateway of western Nepal, said that the expansion of international brand hospitality services will further strengthen the potential of the region.
The hotel will have 115 modern guest rooms including 5 premium suites. It is said that there will be a state-of-the-art casino spread over an area of about 18,500 square feet, a grand banquet hall with a capacity of 700, a rooftop swimming pool, a multi-cuisine restaurant, a fully equipped gymnasium and a meeting-conference room.
Prakash Bikram Khatri, the company's CEO, said that the investment was made with the aim of long-term returns and contributing to the development of tourism infrastructure in the far west. According to him, it is expected to help expand quality tourism infrastructure in western Nepal.
Suryajyoti Life's paid-up capital is Rs 5.1 billion. The company's life insurance fund has reached Rs 4.617 billion and total investment has reached Rs 5.12 billion. The company, which has been providing services through a network of 176 branches across the country, has 107,000 agents and 3.63 million policyholders.
