Changan Automobiles had earlier provided a warranty of 8 years or 240,000 kilometers on the battery and 8 years or 150,000 kilometers on the motor for Deepal's EV. Now, MAW Vriddhi is going to provide a warranty of 11 years or 300,000 kilometers on the battery and 11 years or 200,000 kilometers on the motor through the 'Extended Warranty'. The company claims that this will make EV ownership more worry-free.
Deepal's EV is equipped with Golden Shield batteries from CATL, the world's largest EV battery manufacturer, and state-of-the-art motors from Changan, an experienced Chinese auto manufacturer, according to the company.
Under the 'Extended Warranty', Deepal's customers will get a warranty on 'High-Voltage EV Components' including 'High-Voltage Battery Parts', 'Safety and Control Components' and 'Manufacturing Defects'. This warranty will also cover the important parts of the ‘electric motor system’ including the ‘traction motor assembly’, ‘motor control unit’.
MAW Vriddhi Managing Director Vivek Sikaria said that this is not just an extended warranty but an expression of trust. “Based on our trust in CATL’s Golden Shield battery and Changan’s cutting-edge electric motor, we have implemented this extended warranty keeping in mind the ‘peace of mind’ of Nepali customers,” he said.
