The Koshi Excellence Awards 2026 will be broadcast live on Kantipur Television. An agreement has been reached between Nayan Media Foundation Chairman Pawan Adhikari and Kantipur Television's Business Head Sagar KC and Marketing Manager Anupam Adhikari to broadcast the Koshi Excellence Awards distribution program live on Thursday.
The Koshi Excellence Award-2026 is being organized at the Soalti Western Hotel in Itahari on Falgun 7 with the aim of contributing to the promotion of tourism, trade and socio-cultural identity of Koshi Province.
Established as the biggest and most prestigious award in Koshi Province, this program has been honoring personalities born in Koshi Province and making significant contributions to the national and international sectors.
To make the award more sophisticated and influential, Pawan Adhikari, Chairman of the organizing organization Nayan Media Foundation, said that this year, three new categories will be added, namely automobile, music and capital market, making the awards in a total of 16 categories.
He said that last year, awards were given in more than a dozen categories including education, health, communication, literature, tourism, agriculture, corporate, banking, sports, social, startup, technology and insurance.
Chairman Adhikari said that a high-level judging committee has been formed with the aim of making the award more credible and national-level.
The jury committee includes former Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari as its chief advisor, while a four-member jury has been formed under the coordination of Constituent Assembly member Pawan Sharda. He informed that the committee is proceeding with the selection process of the award recipients in a fast and transparent manner.
In the context of the Koshi Province government moving forward with preparations for the 'Koshi Tourism Year-2082', the organizers believe that the award program will play an important role in promoting tourism, trade and socio-cultural identity of the province.
According to Chairman Adhikari, the program will help promote tourism along with trade and aims to introduce Koshi tourism at the national level. It is said that the management of the award program will be done by Kafals, based in Itahari.
