Lumbini Ceramics Limited's products Laminar Tiles and Cresta Tiles have received the Nepal Quality Mark. The Nepal Department of Standards and Metrology has awarded the quality mark of NS 617:2082 standard to both the company's products.
The company says that Nepal's ceramic industry has achieved a significant achievement with the achievement of the mark. According to the company, Laminar Tiles has received the quality mark for the fully vitrified tiles (Group B one A) category from the department, while Cresta Tiles has received the recognition for the porcelain tiles (Group B one B) category. Ashutosh Khaitan, Managing Director of the company, called the achievement of the mark a significant achievement. According to him, obtaining the NS 617 certification for both the fully vitrified and porcelain categories is a significant achievement for the Nepali ceramic industry. 'Achieving the Nepal Quality Mark has established clear, scientific and nationally recognized standards for measuring the quality of tiles,' he said, 'It has also proven our ability to provide international standard products at affordable prices through transparent classification and certification.'
Fully vitrified tiles are placed in the high quality category in the international market. The company believes that after obtaining the NS 617 mark, consumer confidence in the company's products will be further strengthened, and the consumption of domestic products will increase and it will also help in import substitution.
Laminar's fully vitrified tiles are tiles with low water absorption. Due to this, the tiles do not have the problem of staining, color fading, and are not affected by abrasion. Such tiles are especially suitable for floors, walls, and areas with high traffic, rain, balconies, and parking lots.
In addition, the Cresta tiles produced by the company are considered affordable for homes and commercial spaces. The company says that these tiles, which can be used on both floors and walls, are durable and are also available in modern designs. Due to their low water absorption properties, porcelain tiles last for a long time.
The company has also classified the tiles with the aim of making it easy for the consumer. With this, the consumer will be able to easily get information about which tile to use where? What quality to use? What price to use.
Similarly, tiles that meet the NS 617 standard are also considered important from the point of view of safety. According to the company, its group classification will be mentioned next to each tile. It is believed that the possibility of misinformation or fraud will be greatly reduced as the customer, mechanic or person looking after the project can check the type of tile themselves before installing the tile.
Both Laminar and Cresta tiles are being produced at the company's factory in Bardiya. The company has been producing tiles using glazes imported from Spain and Italy and modern digital ink technology.
According to the company, the tiles are available through authorized dealers across the country. The company has also informed that the tiles can also be viewed at the 'Laminar Experience Center' located in Uttardhoka, Kathmandu.
