Kantipur Dental College Teaching Hospital and Research Center, established as a leading institution in the field of dental treatment and medical education, has completed 18 years of its establishment and entered its 19th year. On this occasion, the college has concluded its anniversary celebration with educational, medical activities and honors programs.

Established on December 16, 2007 as the first dental college of Kathmandu University, this college is located in Dhapasi-Basundhara. The main objective of the college is to provide quality dental treatment, education and research facilities in Nepal. Currently, the college offers Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS), Master in Dental Surgery (MDS) and B.Sc. in Laboratory Medicine programs. 

Currently, about 50 different disciplines are being taught and taught in the college and hospital, and 225 employees have been directly employed. Since its establishment, the college has been promoting education, treatment and research in parallel and has provided quality education to thousands of students.

 

The hospital has provided dental health services to more than 150,000 patients so far, and more than 20,000 patients have availed the services in the last one year.

Principal Prof. Dr. Ravindra Man Shrestha, noting that the college has made significant contributions to the field of dental education and treatment, expressed his commitment to emphasize modern technology, research-oriented teaching and the production of skilled manpower. Hospital Director Dr. Pratiksha Shrestha said that preparations are being made to digitize the entire service to increase service effectiveness.

According to founder Dr. Buddhiman Shrestha, the college was established with the aim of providing quality dental education in the country. The college operates an Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma Center, Special Needs Oral Health Center, Neuromuscular Dentistry and Aesthetic Center.

Various dignitaries, including officials of Kathmandu University, participated in the anniversary celebration. On the occasion, employees and excellent teachers who have made long-term contributions were honored. The college has committed to playing an effective role in the health sector by further strengthening service, education and research in the future.
