Yashoda Foods is going to produce noodles based on solar energy.

The company has successfully installed an 865 kWp rooftop solar project at its factory in Chandrauta, Kapilvastu, and has started generating electricity through clean and green solar energy from November 23, 2025.

‘This solar plant is expected to meet about 80 percent of the industrial electricity demand, reduce electricity costs by 65 percent, and utilize unused rooftops, as well as significantly reduce carbon emissions,’ the company said in a statement.

The project was built by Prime Renewables Pvt. Ltd., a leading and experienced smart solar solution provider in Nepal, the company claims. ‘We are very proud to install the entire Yashoda Foods family solar system at the Chandrauta plant. This will greatly help reduce carbon emissions and move Current Noodles towards sustainability in its operations,’ the statement said.

The 856 kW plant will generate more than one million units of electricity every year, said GP Sah, the company's global executive director. "This will save 2,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This will reduce production costs, making us more competitive," he said.
