On 24 Magh 2081, the Subhash Amatya Group bought the Hotel Pawan Palace Pvt. Ltd. located in Lumbini and is going to convert it into a Crowne Plaza. The hotel is located 1.9 km from the Lumbini religious site and 9 km from Gautam Buddha International Airport. The hotel, which started commercial operations under the name Pawan Palace International in 2078 BS, has 147 deluxe and suite rooms, according to a press release issued by the hotel. The hotel management agreement was signed by Chairman Subhash Amatya on behalf of the company and Managing Director Sudeep Jain on behalf of South West Asia, IHG Hotels and Resorts. The state-of-the-art five-star hotel and casino will be fully operational within the next 8 months, the press release states. The hotel has also said that it will issue public shares within the current fiscal year.
