A meeting was held between the President of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal and the President of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammad Al Thani.
During the meeting, the issues of strengthening economic and business relations and mutual cooperation between Nepal and Qatar were discussed, according to the statement issued by the federation. On that occasion, Dhakal, the president of the federation, informed that it has been agreed to organize the next meeting of Nepal-Qatar Joint Business Council (JBC) in Kathmandu soon.
Mentioning that JBC has become an important mechanism for trade and investment promotion between the two countries, he emphasized that the member list should be finalized soon to strengthen it.
Appreciating Qatar's support in establishing JBC, President Dhakal also urged Qatari investors to invest in Nepal as there are many investment opportunities in Nepal. 'In Nepal There are investment opportunities in many areas. I urge Qatari investors to invest in hydropower, solar energy, information technology, fintech and agriculture-based industries,' he said. He is committed to take initiatives on his part to strengthen economic and commercial relations with Nepal and to continue meetings and discussions in this way.
Meanwhile, Federation President Dhakal has also invited the Qatar Chamber and the Qatari business community to participate in the Nepal International Economic Summit (NIES) to be held in Kathmandu in February 2026.
