PhonePay has partnered with Alipay+. The company said that with the acceptance of international payments through interoperable QR network, a new chapter has been added in Nepal's journey towards digital transformation and international business.
"This partnership was launched through a formal event held in Kathmandu," said a statement issued by PhonePe. Along with this, international tourists from more than 11 countries including China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Germany, Italy, etc. will be able to pay in Nepal easily through QR using their familiar home e-wallets such as Alipay, Kakaope, Gcash etc.
'These payment facilities will be available to more than 1.7 million PhonePay QR-enabled businessmen across Nepal, which will free tourists from the hassle of carrying cash or looking for a money exchange,' the release states, 'This collaboration between PhonePay and Alipay+ is not limited to financial transactions, it will further strengthen the cultural and economic ties between Nepal and the Asia-Pacific region.'
