Sharp increase in PhonePay UPI usage, number of transactions exceeds 1 million

Digital payment service provider PhonePay has done more than 1 million international UPI transactions through its network. Phonepay claims to have reached new heights with the facility of safe, easy and real-time digital payments in Nepal for Indian users.

Indian tourists have started paying conveniently using UPI enabled apps through PhonePe QR Scan while visiting Nepal. The rapid adoption and expansion of digital payment technology reflects growing confidence in digital options for cross-border travel, business and personal spending, the company said.

According to PhonePe, more than 2 billion rupees have been transacted out of more than 1 million UPI transactions. Divash Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, PhonePe, said, 'Crossing one million UPI transactions is a testament to the trust and adoption of digital payments by Indian customers in Nepal.'
