First Choice Foods has launched a French fry industry in Rupandehi with an investment of 2 billion rupees. During an event in Kathmandu on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel announced the production of First Choice Food.
The product of 'First Choice Food', launched by businessman Krishna Prasad Paudel, who lives in Gulmi Ghar and is living in Butwal, has been made public. The industry is producing 'Frozen Potato Products and French Fries'.
Although currently exporting to India, businessman Poudel said that in the coming days, he is preparing to export to countries including America, Dubai, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. He said that the industry is buying 2 thousand tons of potatoes annually. The industry spread over a total area of 5 bighas has been producing potato dishes only.
In 19 districts including Sindhuli, Kavre, Kailali, Nawalpur, etc., 10,000 farmers are producing potatoes for their industry after successful testing. The industry is now delivering products to consumers through 5 distributors, 12 chain restaurants, 150 suppliers, more than 400 restaurants and 171 modern marts in major cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal, Itahari, Dang, Nepalganj.
