The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has presented recommendations to develop the Far Western Province as a sustainable and inclusive tourist destination. The recommendation is based on the Far West Integrated Economic and Tourism Development Study, according to ADB.
ADB has presented this recommendation during the recently held Tourism Consultative Conference and Pre-Investment and Development Conference in Dhangadhi. At the request of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, ADB has completed the study and prepared the provincial tourism master plan for the year 2022.
The natural beauty and cultural heritage of this province are very unique. But the potential of tourism has not yet been fully utilized," said Arno Koshwa, National Director of ADB for Nepal. "The study shows that the Far West can be transformed into a prosperous tourism economy through targeted investment in connectivity (transportation network), tourist destinations and capacity development of human resources."
