Tata Group Airlines Air India Express has started a direct flight from Kathmandu to Bangalore.
From May 18, Air India has started daily direct flights between Kathmandu and Bengaluru. According to the company, Kathmandu has become the 17th international destination in Air India's growing network and the first station in Nepal for Air India Express. As per the release of the company, the departure time from Bangalore to Kathmandu will be at 5:05 PM and the arrival time will be at 8:50 PM. Similarly, the departure from Kathmandu to Bengaluru will be at 9:05 PM and the landing will be at 12:25 PM.
The new service connects Nepal's capital to Bengaluru. Often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore is home to India's leading universities, hospitals, multinational companies and research centers. Alok Sinhal, managing director of Air India Express, expressed his happiness at expanding its presence in the neighboring country of Nepal on the occasion of the launch of the service in Kathmandu.
'We are happy to strengthen our deep cultural and economic ties by starting air flights with neighboring countries,' he said, 'This new route will bring people and traditions closer. It will strengthen our vision to make travel more accessible and meaningful.'
The flight will provide one-stop access to other Indian cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa and Tiruchirappalli, as well as Abu Dhabi and Dammam in the Middle East, according to the company.
