'Campaign Conference 2025' will be organized in Kathmandu, focusing on climate change and the rights and interests of informal sector workers. The conference, which will be organized in collaboration with AxonAid International Nepal, Nepal Mahila Ekta Samaj and Youth Advocacy Nepal and Sancharika Group, is scheduled to be held on May 5 and 6 at Pragya Foundation.

According to the information given by the organizers, the purpose of the conference is to raise the voice of the communities that are directly affected by the climate crisis and the workers working in the unorganized sector, to have a strong dialogue up to the policy-making level to improve their living standards. Young activists, farmers, workers, government agencies, civil society and policy makers will participate in the conference. At the

conference, it is said that the demands of ensuring minimum and fair wages, safe and violence-free workplace, occupational health protection, social security and gender inclusive public service system will be raised. The program will begin on May 5 at 8 am with a rally from Shanti Garden. Participants in the rally will march to Ratnapark to show solidarity for climate justice and labor rights. After that, the representatives of the concerned agencies will make a speech at the ceremony to be held at Pragya Pratishthan.

In the two-day conference, parallel sessions will be held and topics such as climate finance, labor rights, protection of common resources, occupational safety and other issues will be discussed in the statement. On the second day, a ministerial-level policy dialogue session will be conducted and there will be an interaction with the representatives of the Ministry of Forest and Environment and the Ministry of Labor. At the end of the conference, a joint demand will be prepared and submitted to the relevant ministries. In the

press conference, the speakers including Narendra Khatiwada, Advisor of Youth Advocacy Nepal, Rahul Dewan, Campaign Manager of AxonAid International Nepal, Bhagwati Adhikari, Executive Director of Mahila Ekta Samaj and Kamala Panthi, President of Sancharika Group Nepal, highlighted the role of public engagement, mass movement and communication.
