An agreement has been signed between Nepal Maida Udyog Association and India's Agriwatch to monitor the wheat crop through the use of satellite technology in the agricultural sector. The agreement was signed between the union and Agriwatch in the chief hospitality of Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari.
According to the agreement, wheat crop monitoring and farmers' wheat production capacity will be increased through modern technology, said Radheshyam Agarwal, general secretary of the association. He said that there is a great possibility of becoming self-sufficient in wheat in three years by obtaining scientific crop data, deep understanding of farmers' problems and solving them.
"By empowering farmers through technology, innovation and the right policy, we can change the agricultural future of Nepal," he said.
