Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) has conducted 'Correspondent Banking Academy' in Nepal. With the aim of strengthening international banking operations, improving compliance standards and promoting global best practices, the bank organized a two-day workshop in Kathmandu on May 11 and 12.
Phaninder Gautam, Secretary of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office, said that cooperation between the government and the private sector is necessary to control financial crime. More than 130 delegates from 15 countries in Asia and South Asia participated in the workshop. Among the participants were central banks, regulatory bodies and leading figures in the banking sector.
