NCHL and MasterCard have entered into a strategic partnership for cross-border payments in Nepal.
Nepal Clearing House Limited, a payment system operator licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank and Mastercard, a global technology company operating in the payment industry, have signed a memorandum of understanding for fast payment using Mastercard for international tourists visiting Nepal.
Both parties informed that the agreement was made with the aim of making international Mastercard payments easy and convenient to make 'local-like payments' at NCHL's NepalPay QR and interoperable QR merchants in Nepal.
They believe that this collaboration will increase the adoption of digital payments by consumers and merchants across the country by providing an additional platform for foreign tourists to make digital payments using their MasterCard at local QR merchants.
This engagement between NCHL and Mastercard is expected to significantly support Nepal's tourism sector for international transactions.
