Bhagirath Sapkota has been elected as the president of Nepal Industry and Business Federation. Sapkota was unanimously elected as the president by the third convention of the federation held on Saturday.

The convention, which lasted for two days in Kathmandu, was inaugurated by Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli.

Suvarna Shrestha on the open side and Shobha Gurung on the women's side have been unanimously elected as the vice president of the federation. While Balkrishna Sivakoti was elected as the General Secretary of the Federation, Dim Prasad Paudel was elected as the Deputy General Secretary.

Similarly, Gopal Khanal, Ramraja Shrestha, Dolanath Khanal and Saroj Yadav have been selected as secretaries. Rajkumar Timilsina for accounting, Tank Raut for election and Balaram Bhattarai for discipline have been selected in the three commissions of the federation. The convention has also selected member central committee regionally.  The newly elected president Bhagirath Sapkota said that he will work for the rights of all industrialists across the country as he takes over the leadership of the federation.

"We will advance the Federation of Nepal Industry and Businessmen as an umbrella organization to represent small, domestic to medium and large industrialists," he said, "Now many industrialists are in trouble." I express my commitment to work in their interests.'
