Coca-Coca Beverage Nepal has completed one year of the project called 'Wau' (Well Being Out of Waste). On the occasion of World Recycling Day, the company said that it has completed the project in one year.

The company says that this project is making a significant contribution to sustainable development, women's empowerment and waste management in Nepal.

The project was launched in February 2024. It is said that this project saved 144,000 kg of PET bottles from going to the landfill and turned them into a useful resource. According to the company, the project has also established a material recovery facility at Budhanilkanth in Kathmandu, where PET bottles are bundled and sent to the PET recycler at Nawalparasi. There, the bottle will be converted into flakes and reprocessed into materials such as polyester staple fiber, the company said.
