The eleventh annual general meeting of the Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been held in Kathmandu. The meeting discussed investment promotion in Nepal, expansion of tourism sector and other issues. A commitment was also made in the program to strengthen business relations between Nepal and Italy.
Those who have contributed to Nepal-Italy economic relations were also honored in the meeting. Rajeshkaji Shrestha, Consul Pratima Pandey and Ashkanshamsher Jabra are among those honored. General Secretary of the Association Manoj Shrestha Vadal expressed his gratitude for Italy's support in the reconstruction of cultural, historical and physical heritage of Nepal.
Italy's contribution to Nepal's heritage conservation is important. We can learn from Italy and work on preserving the heritage here. We believe that this cooperation will be a permanent symbol of friendship between our two countries. Sanjay Agarwal, president of the association said that Italy is playing an important role in the economic development of Nepal. "The support provided by the Italian government after the earthquake in Nepal in 2072 is historic," he said, "we are focusing on achieving sustainable economic growth by further strengthening the economic cooperation between Nepal and Italy."
